Police investigate after 5 shot outside Brockton house party

Authorities said one of the victims was seriously wounded.

Police are investigating after five men were shot Saturday night at a house party in the Campello area of Brockton.

Just after 10:30 p.m., gunfire erupted outside a party at 124 Laureston Street where responding officers found four Boston men and one Everett man injured, according to a release from Brockton police.

A patrol officer tended to one of the victims, who was seriously wounded, while waiting for ambulance personnel and Brockton Firefighters to arrive on scene, police said.

Two of the victims reportedly made it to the hospital on their own with non-life-threatening injuries, and an ambulance transported the other three men to nearby hospitals.

Brockton police said several people reported hearing gunshots, and the city’s electronic gunshot detection system, ShotSpotter, determined that six rounds went off in the area.

Police recovered five shell casings from the scene, according to the release.

Local authorities, alongside Plymouth District Attorney’s Office detectives, are currently investigating the incident.

No additional information has been immediately released as of Sunday morning.
