A woman was shot to death at the Hyatt Regency hotel in downtown Boston late Thursday night, according to Boston police.
The hotel incident was one of two fatal shootings in Boston Thursday night. Just over an hour prior, a man was shot to death in Dorchester.
For the hotel shooting, authorities were called to 1 Avenue de Lafayette around 11:26 p.m. for a report of someone shot. Police found a woman with a gunshot wound; she was pronounced dead on scene.
In the Dorchester shooting, police were called to Capen and Evans streets around 10:03 p.m. for a report of someone shot. On scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound; he was also pronounced dead on scene.
Police are asking for the public’s help with both investigations, and anyone who may know something is asked to call the department’s homicide detectives at 617-343-4470. People can also use the department’s anonymous tip line by calling 1-800-494-TIPS or by texting “TIP” to CRIME (27463).
