Police: Local teen arrested, charged with felony for scaling Fenway Park’s Green Monster

The arrest follows a similar incident earlier this month where two young men filmed themselves sneaking onto the field.

A 19-year-old male was arrested and charged with a felony for allegedly breaking into Fenway Park early Saturday, Boston police said.

A police representative said Seamus Webster of Newburyport climbed and stood atop the Green Monster, the stadium’s left field wall, early Saturday morning.

Webster was located and arrested without incident around 1:40 a.m. Saturday around 4 David Ortiz Way after Fenway security called police. He was charged for trespassing and breaking and entering in the nighttime and will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

Breaking and entering in the nighttime is a felony in Massachusetts and could be punished with prison time. The arrest follows a similar incident earlier this month where two young men filmed themselves sneaking onto the Fenway baseball field, and Fenway security allegedly intends to press serious charges against anyone who enters the stadium.

Six other young men were stopped and questioned for also allegedly trying to climb the wall, according to local crime blog Live Boston, which first reported the arrest.
