Police search for Franklin jewelry store robber

Franklin Police are searching for a man who broke into Vallee Jewelers on Saturday night and stole an estimated $10,000 worth of goods, according to police.

The department released surveillance footage on Monday that shows the suspect breaking a door and leaving later in the night. Police are asking the public to help identify the suspect, who is seen in the video wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with writing that is not clear, and a logo on the back.

Police reported they were notified of an alarm at the store around 10:13 p.m. and arrived to find the front door smashed, according to the report.

Police discovered major damage inside the store, including broken cases and jewelry on the floor.

Franklin Police K9 unit was then brought to the scene and lead police down multiple streets to the spot where police believe the suspect got into a vehicle and drove away.

From the video, the suspect’s vehicle appeared to be a silver sedan-style car.
