Police identify woman killed in Dorchester double shooting, seek public’s help in investigation

The shooting took place at 240 Westview St., Dorchester on Sept. 25 around 9 p.m.

The Boston Police Department has identified one of the two victims of a shooting that occurred in Dorchester Sept. 25 around 9 p.m. The female victim, who died from a gunshot wound, was identified as Tayne Perkins, 31, from Canton.

Upon arriving at the scene at 240 Westview St., police found Perkins and a male victim suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. The two were taken to a hospital close by to be treated but Perkins was pronounced dead at the hospital. The man remains in stable condition.

Police are continuing to investigate the case and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information related to this shooting is urged to contact Boston Police Homicide Detectives at 617-343-4470.
