Boston police ID man killed in Hyde Park

Noel Jimenez, 30, of Hyde Park was shot near the Fairmount commuter rail station.

Authorities have identified the man who was shot to death Monday night near the Fairmount commuter rail station in Hyde Park.

Boston police were called to Maple Street around 9:54 p.m., according to a department press release.

When they arrived, they found 30-year-old Noel Jimenez of Hyde Park with a gunshot wound, according to a statement from police.

Police said he was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries and later pronounced dead.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the department’s homicide unit at 617-343-4470.
