An MBTA bus driver was assaulted by two male juveniles Monday night after attempting to stop them from harassing a passenger, transit police said on Tuesday.
The assault occurred around 9 p.m. on Monday near Spring St. and Gould St. in West Roxbury, an intersection covered by the 36 and 52 busses, where the bus driver requested the two boys stop harassing a passenger. The juveniles then assaulted the driver before fleeing.
Transit police say that they are actively investigating the incident and they will seek criminal complaints once the suspects are identified.
The assault comes as bus driver shortages, due in part to safety concerns, have hurt an already struggling MBTA.
