New Englanders got a lot of free Dunkin’ Donuts coffee out of the Patriots’ 12-4 season last year.
Maybe too much.
The Canton-based chain is changing up their “Pats Win, You Win” promotion this year. No longer will New Englanders enrolled in Dunkin’ Donuts’s DD Perks program have a free hot or iced coffee waiting for them the day after a Patriots win.
“This year’s ‘Pats Win, You Win’ promotion pays tribute to one of Dunkin’ Donuts’ biggest fans [and paid promoter], #87 Rob Gronkowski,” Patty Healy, the company’s New England field marking director, said in a statement.
In other words, Dunkin’ Donuts is dialing it back.
Instead of a free coffee, DD Perks-enrolled customers can get an 87-cent medium hot or iced coffee the day after a Patriots win through the regular season
The offer is available in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, and Essex and Clinton counties in New York.
Last season, Dunkin’ Donuts reportedly gave away 2.25 million free coffees through the playoffs following Patriots wins.
