A 6-year-old from Worcester who’s awaiting a heart transplant has a small request for the holidays: Christmas cards.
In a video posted on his mother’s Facebook page, Carlos Rolon asks, “Can you send me — mail me — some, some, some, some Christmas cards please?”
Rolon was born with an abnormality of one of the four chambers of his heart, Boston 25 News reported. He’s been in the hospital since Aug. 31 and won’t be allowed to go home until he has a new heart.
Christmas is Carlos’s favorite holiday, he wants to decorate his hospital room with the cards.
“He sees a lot of the kids come and go, and he’s starting to question when he’s going to get to go, and we tell him when he gets a new heart,” his mother, Sheena Cossette, told Boston 25 News. “But with the holidays coming, we’re trying to make it as best as we can here.”
Cossette posted the video of Carlos’s request to Facebook on Wednesday afternoon. It’s already been viewed more than 4,500 times.
Cards can be sent to Carlos at:
