When the bombs went off on Boylston Street, Matt Cutler felt the impact. He’s the CEO of Collaborate.com, which has an office nearby on Newbury Street. He also felt the impact days later when businesses in and around Boylston were shuttered during the investigation.
Two months later, he wants to help those businesses recover with #TechtoBackBay , a meetup tonight at the Apple Store (815 Boylston St.) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event features brief presentations by Collaborate.com, LogMeIn, Carbonite, Raizlabs, SpringPad, and other companies, offering advice on software and technology that can drive efficiency.
“The only way to make up for lost time is to get more efficient,’’ said Cutler. “The memorial is gone, but I don’t think the togetherness mentality that we’re all in this together is gone one bit.’’
Cutler said he modeled #TechtoBackBay after attending the Back to Back Bay meetup organized by Globe columnist Scott Kirsner. That event brought the community together by patronizing Boylston pubs and restaurants.
