Denise Brunet has been a nurse for 41 years. She is currently a health coach for the Chronic Condition Management Program for Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA. She works with members with diabetes, helping them achieve their goals telephonically/electronically as they try to lower blood sugars through diet and exercise. I would like to nominate nurse case manager Donna Buonopane-Johnson. She manages members in the Worcester area for the Medicare Advantage Plan at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. She goes above and beyond to ensure our members have the services and support needed to stay healthy and remain in the community. Her compassion and dedication is evident in the glowing letters of satisfaction sent by members, whether it be for a discharge call or a complex need that required education on their health conditions. She is a highly valued member of the case management team.

When I saw the announcement of the annual Salute to Nurses, I immediately knew that Pat Ferry would be a candidate for this honor. Pat is the leader of case managers for government programs at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. In her role, she works with both our members and nurses to be sure that our members’ case management needs are met. She always puts our members first. Pat is a great source of support and encouragement to her team of nurses, always taking the extra time to help solve a problem or provide guidance to assist other nurses as they support our members. Pat truly goes above and beyond for our members and nurses.
