Nomination Letters – NewBridge on the Charles

Claire Hunt

Claire is the day nurse in the Memory Support Unit and has been my mom’s primary nurse for over a year. She exemplifies what one thinks of and hopes for when a nurse is needed. Her knowledge of geriatric nursing is demonstrated every day; she reads every resident correctly, whether they are having a tough day, need an extra hug, a drink, a review of meds, etc. Her personality is tailor-made for this population. Claire’s professionalism is daunting. She keeps us in the loop constantly, either by email or by phone call. Her advocacy for my mom is extraordinary; we have all been blessed that she is the one to care for such a fragile, aging resident. Mom is in the best of hands. If she weren’t such a fabulous geriatric RN, Claire would be the epitome of a master teacher as someone who has been in the trenches, gets it, and can relate her knowledge, communication skills, and experience to others.

Claire Hunt

Claire Hunt has been our Dad’s nurse for over four years. She has provided exceptional clinical care and emotional support with warmth, patience and humor, no small feat given our dad’s significant cognitive decline. Claire shares acute observations of his daily life, is keenly tuned in to even the subtlest of clinical or behavioral changes, and has developed a wonderful rapport with our dad. This stupendous nurse represents the best in high-quality, responsive, patient- and family-centered care.
