Debbie goes above and beyond in all aspects of her life. As a visiting nurse, her job does not begin and end when visiting each patient. Debbie takes a personal interest in the well-being of her patients and offers herself to them and their families at all times. Often, Debbie finds that patients or their families request to have her specifically as their nurse. One such example is Debbie’s patient and now friend, Millie. Millie is a 100-year-old woman who lives by herself. As one of Debbie’s patients, Millie is included in all aspects of her family’s life. For Millie’s 100th birthday, Debbie had a birthday party for Millie, inviting all of the people in Millie’s building, as well as the mayor and council members in the City of Malden.
