Nomination Letters – East Boston Schools

Mrs. Bakos

As a Boston Public School teacher, I can truly say that Mrs. Bakos is one of the most loving and dedicated nurses I have ever known. She is currently working as a nurse in two East Boston schools where she is well loved by students and faculty alike. Mrs. Bakos comes into work everyday with a huge smile on her face and a readiness to care for and support any child or adult who may come her way.

Mrs. Bakos works diligently to ensure the well-being of all our children and families. She advocates for programs that support well-balanced meals for children in and out of school, as well as healthy physical awareness and self-care. Mrs. Bakos comes early to school everyday and helps to run the BOKS Program, which is a physical- and nutrition-based educational program designed to increase physical fitness and health in young children. She also comes into school every Saturday for five hours to assist in running Saturday’s For Success, a program designed to help support the social and emotional needs of children who have begun to display aggressive and or abusive behaviors at school.

Mrs. Bakos is passionate about meeting all of the needs of the children she works with by addressing their physical, mental, social, and emotional selves. She truly does embody all of the core values of a health care professional
