The need for competent, caring nursing continues to grow. Nurse educators such as my former nurse instructor help address this need by generously sharing their knowledge and their hearts with students. In the classroom as well as in the clinical setting, Jessica was a role model to me and others. She demonstrated genuine compassion toward her patients and displayed grace under stressful and often critical situations.
She inspired me to continue my nursing education at a time when I was ready to call it quits. I’m grateful for the respect and belief she had in me. I’ve personally benefited from Jessica’s teaching and intend to pass along those benefits as I care for others.
