Verizon hearing to continue
The Board of Aldermen on Aug. 20 will continue a public hearing on a request from Verizon to install 835 feet of underground conduit on Rivers Lane to upgrade service in the area. The application was received in May,
but action was delayed until it could be determined if an easement was required to access the street.
It turned out Verizon in 1973 received a blanket easement from the city to place conduit on private property. The board will meet at 7:45 p.m. in the aldermen’s chamber at City Hall.
