Sculpture on view

A sculpture by late artist George McGoff is now on view on the patio of the Art Complex at 189 Alden St. “Crest of the Wave’’ is a gift to the museum in his memory from McGoff’s wife, Robin. McGoff’s style turns straight lines into curves, resulting in a visual effect called the hyperbolic paraboloid and using Western red cedar and mahogany to create large, three-dimensional environmental and garden sculptures. McGoff, who worked as an industrial designer and art teacher, also created sculptures in rectangular shapes, mobiles, and toy designs. McGoff died at his home in Marshfield Hills last October after a long illness.
