4-alarm fire destroys Uxbridge building

The origin of four-alarm fire that destroyed a five-unit apartment building in Uxbridge is still unknown. The fire broke out at around 10:30 p.m. Sept. 3 and seven of the nine residents have been accounted for. The Worcester district attorney said one body was recovered, but declined to say whether the remains were of an adult or child. Read full story.

The nearest water source was 1,200 feet away from the burning building so firefighters linked pump trucks together by long links of fire hoses to move the water.
