Orchard on lookout for apple thieves

A New Hampshire orchard said it is adding a couple of employees to patrol for apple thieves after some customers did not pay for everything they picked. Employees at Mack’s Apples in Londonderry said they have been seeing customers buy one bag of apples and then fill their car trunks full of fruit they did not pay for. Farm managers told WMUR-TV that only a small number of customers are committing the thefts, but in a year with a thin apple crop it has an impact on the orchard’s bottom line.
