Millis resident David Leone was honored last week by Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital for his strength and his ability to inspire others in the wake of a 2004 accident that left him with paralysis from the waist down. Leone was presented with the Boston hospital’s Graham Hale Gardner Angel Award. Leone’s wife was pregnant with their son when he fell off a ladder and injured his spinal cord. “David has used his positive energy and spirit to both continue a successful career and be a dedicated husband and father. That focus served as a role model both to his caregivers at Spaulding as well as many other patients inspired by his story,’’ the hospital said in announcing Leone’s selection for the honor. The award was part of last Sunday’s “Set Sail’’ event, an annual fund-raising and family event in Boston sponsored by Spaulding.
