Marine artist to demonstrate his craft

The Rockland Education Foundation, which provides grants to teachers with worthy educational projects, is hosting prominent marine artist Michael Keane in an art demonstration next Sunday at 2 p.m. in the new Rockland High School auditorium. Keane, a Rockland High alumnus, will be honored by selectmen at the event. He will explain his technique while executing a new work. Afterward, a painting, “Off Nantucket,’’ will be auctioned. Tickets for the event are $10 and can be obtained online at www.rocklandeducationfoundation.org, at Amos A. Phelps & Son Insurance, and by calling Robert George at 781-878-0379. To bid in the auction, visit the foundation website for registration information. There is a $1,500 reserve price.
