Industrial solar power project being built in Vt.

Construction is underway on what will become one of the largest solar-power facilities in Vermont. When the project is completed by late summer, more than 9,900 ground-mounted, fixed photovoltaic panels in Franklin County will be tapping the sun to create electricity. It is expected that the project will generate enough electricity to power about 400 homes a year. Kristina Peterson — chief executive officer of Greenwood Biosar, based in Carlsbad, Calif. — told the Burlington Free Press that the solar installation is owned by Enel Green Power of Italy.
