TAFTSVILLE, Vt. (AP) — Another Vermont covered bridge that has been closed since it was damaged by flooding from Tropical Storm Irene is set to reopen, linking Taftsville, Woodstock and Quechee.
The Taftsville Covered Bridge is scheduled to reopen by the close of business on Sept. 6.
The bridge has been closed since the Aug. 28, 2011, storm that overflowed the Ottauquechee River.
Taftsville Country Store co-owner Courtney Brooks tells the Valley News (http://bit.ly/17JTKyv) the reopening is ‘‘going to be huge.’’
The bridge had been scheduled to open in late June.
Project Superintendent Jim Ligon says the bridge cost around $2.5 million, about $100,000 over budget.
A reopening ceremony is set for Sept. 7.
