A South Shore school was placed in lockdown this morning after school officials found a bullet casing in the lobby, police said.
Norwell police responded to the South Shore Charter School on Longwater Circle around 8:30 a.m. They located the casing and placed the school in lockdown.
Norwell police, along with officers from the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council, State Police, and K-9 units, searched the building. They did not find additional ammunition or firearms, police said.
By noon, the school was cleared and normal activities resumed, police said.
The incident is under investigation, police said.
