Missing Lynnfield Native Found Dead in Nicaragua

Mother was reportedly told that suspect is in custody

A Wyoming woman originally from Lynnfield who went missing during a Christian mission trip to Nicaragua has been found dead, according to the group that organized her project.

Karen Colclough, 37, of Wilson, Wyoming, was with a Christian mission group in Nicaragua when she disappeared on April 11. She was reportedly last seen going for a walk with only a camera, notebook and Bible.

Argos International, a Seattle-based organization that organized the trip, posted this statement to their Facebook page late Monday night:

According to a report from WBZ-TV’s website, Colclough’s mother said she has received word that a suspect was in custody.

The nature of her death was not immediately clear Monday night. She was reportedly identified by remaining missionaries who stayed in Nicaragua to assist with the search.
