Chelsea man charged with bribing Registry worker for fake IDs

A Chelsea man is facing federal charges alleging that he bribed a Registry of Motor Vehicles worker to issue fake driver’s licenses to people in Massachusetts, authorities said. Leonel Sanchez, 52, was indicted Tuesday in federal court in Boston on charges of conspiring to fraudulently issue identification documents and aggravated identify theft, US Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz’s office said in a statement. Sanchez allegedly carried out the scheme from December 2012 through January 2013. An arraignment date has not been set.
