Police Detonate Suspicious Device Near South Station
The State Police bomb squad has detonated a suspicious device near South Station.
While attempting to determine if the item in question, which was spotted near a Departmeant of Transportation building by a State Police officer earlier this morning, was actually a hazardous device, the bomb squad decided to err on the side of caution and detonate it.

According to the Boston Globe, first responders initially considered the device a “possible pipe bomb.’’

All highway ramps that were closed during this morning’s investigation have since reopened, the Globe reported officials saying.
