Massachusetts State Police said they arrested a Roxbury man after a drug-sniffing dog found heroin during a traffic stop Wednesday.

According to State Police, Johnny V. Nunez of Roxbury was arrested and charged with trafficking heroin after a K9 unit found a kilo of the drug in his car. Police said they pulled over Nunez’s Acura MDX on I-93 in Andover.

“As Trooper McTeague spoke with the operator, he made observations of drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle,’’ State Police said on their official blog.

Another police unit brought a dog, which detected the drugs in the car, according to police.

Nunez was also charged with marked lane violations and for a missing inspection sticker, according to police.
