MBTA Officer Pulls Subway Jumper Back From the Brink

An MBTA Transit Police detective’s quick thinking saved a man’s life Wednesday afternoon, Transit Police said.

A surveillance camera at the Park Street T station shows a man approaching the yellow line in front of the subway track pit. He then places his bags on the ground. Just as he’s about to step onto the tracks, a detective grabs the man pulling him back onto the platform and wrestles him to the ground.

An MBTA tweet Thursday showed MBTA Transit Police Chief Paul MacMillan congratulating the detective for his life-saving actions:
