Legendary broadcaster Casey Kasem has died at the age of 82 early Sunday morning, according to a tweet by his daughter, Kerri Kasem:

The tweets have since been confirmed to the Associated Press by Kerri Kasem’s publicist.

Kasem’s “American Top 40’’ debuted on July 4, 1970. “Mama Told Me Not to Come,’’ by Three Dog Night. with its first No. 1 song

Kasem suffered from Parkinson’s disease.
