Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez paid a brief visit to a hospital this weekend.
Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson confirmed to Boston.com that Hernandez was taken from the Bristol County House of Corrections to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford on Saturday morning for medical treatment.
Hodgson did not tell Boston.com what the medical issue was, but told WBZ that Hernandez’s condition was not the result of a fight or altercation. He also told WBZ that the entire trip lasted about an hour. The Associated Press reported that Hodgson said he can’t disclose information about the hospital visit because of medical privacy laws.
Aaron Hernandez faces murder charges in the deaths of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado in Boston’s South End in July 2012. He’s also charged with the murder Odin Lloyd in June of 2013.
