Couple Allegedly Stole $10K in Wine from Chestnut Hill Wegmans

Newton Police are searching for a couple who allegedly stole about $10,000 worth of wine from the Wegmans grocery store in Chestnut Hill, reported Metro.

Police said the bottles were stolen over multiple days this month, with each valued at over $1,000. The bottles stolen were 2006 Mouton Rothschild.

The Newton Police Department confirmed to that the wine thefts took place on June 12 and 13. According to Metro, the thefts were reported to police on June 15.

Police have released surveillance images of the alleged shoplifters and are asking anyone with information about their identities to call investigators at (617) 796-2104.

The enormous supermarket opened on April 26 of this year. The 80,000 square-foot location features a 10,500 square-foot beer, wine, and liquor section.
