The Cambridge Police announced the start of the fireworks display at the Esplanade has been pushed up to avoid incoming severe weather.

Boston Police made a similar announcement in East Boston, according to UniversalHub’s Adam Gaffin:

In order to accommodate the earlier start time for the fireworks, the Boston Pops performance of “The 1812 Overture’’ was cut from the program to the consternation of some in the crowd. If the weather holds long enough, they may perform the song after the fireworks finale.
