State Police have issued an all-clear at the scene of a triple-decker home in Lawrence where a bomb squad investigated an apparent explosive device found there.
After a search of 200 Exchange St., police said weapons, a fuse and powders were recovered from the scene, but that there was no immediate threat to residents. An item earlier described as a possible pipe bomb was reportedly determined to be a hollow nunchuck.
The incident prompted evacuations of nearby homes and the closing of a part of Exchange Street.
Police initially came across the suspicious materials while searching for guns in the building, reportedly at the request of their dead’s owner’s mother who wanted them out of the home.
