A Boston Police officer was arrested on July 4 for using a department vehicle while off-duty, according to multiple reports.
The Boston Globe reports:
Patrick Donovan took a police vehicle from the Boston Police Department District C-11 in Dorchester and drove it to Revere, where he was later involved in a domestic incident with his domestic partner, police spokeswoman Rachel McGuire said.
Officer Patrick Donovan is already on administrative leave pending a September 2013 larceny charge brought against him by the BPD Internal Affairs Department, according to NECN.
The unauthorized vehicle was found near Donovan’s home in Dorchester some time between 5p.m. and midnight Friday. Donovan was arrested shortly afterwards. It’s unclear how he was able to get access to the vehicle.
The BPD Internal Affairs Department is also investigating circumstances surrounding his arrest on Friday.
