Police: Rhode Island Drunken Driver Had Young Son in Car

Rhode Island State and Central Falls Police arrested a man they said was driving drunk with his four-year-old son in the car.

According to a Rhode Island State Police statement, Aramis, Aviles, 29, of Central Falls, R.I., was arrested Saturday night and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs (second offense) after he reportedly blew a 0.111 percent and 0.113 percent blood alcohol content on a breath test.

From the police statement:

Mr. Aviles also had a Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Payment review on the charge of Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor (First Offense) originating out of the Lincoln Woods Barracks.

Aviles’s 4-year-old son was in the car and not properly restrained with a seat belt, according to police. The child was left with a family member and the Rhode Island Department of Children were notified of the case, according to police.
