JetBlue Pilot Arrested in Boston on Drug Charges

A JetBlue pilot is among six arrested six in connection with a drug investigation in downtown Boston on Sunday, according to multiple media outlets.

According to The Boston Globe, officials said John Manwaring, 42, was arrested and charged with possession of heroin after police responded to complaints of drug dealing near 75 Boylston Street. Manwaring is reportedly a commercial pilot for JetBlue who told police he is from Maitland, Florida.

NECN reports the arrests took place at 5:45 p.m. and Manwaring told police he had arrived in Boston earlier in the day. Five others were arrested, including Jennifer Robinson, 31, of Boston, who was with Manwaring during the alleged exchange.

According to The Globe:

Also arrested was Braulio Valentin, 34, of Worcester who was charged with distribution of heroin and trespassing; Pedro Davilo, 36, of Boston, was arrested for distribution of heroin and possession of cocaine; Gerardo Puchales, 26, of Boston was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine within 1,000 yards of a school and trespassing. Abraham Ayala-Garcia, 31, was charged with trespassing.

Police said the arrests were made after they noticed individuals moving to and from an alley near the intersection of Boylston and Tremont streets. All six will reportedly be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court today.
