Cyclist Struck by Garbage Truck in South End

A cyclist was struck by a garbage truck at the intersection of Massachusetts and Columbus Avenues on Tuesday morning, according to multiple media reports.

The Boston Fire Department responded to the scene at approximately 10:05 a.m. and used tools to lift the truck’s front end and pull the victim out.

NECN reported that the male victim was taken to Boston Medical Center for treatment.

According to WCVB, police were diverting traffic away from the scene.
