A two-alarm fire on Saturday at a home in South Lawrence sent flames and plumes of black smoke billowing out of windows as officials tried to battle the blaze.
Lawrence police calledthe inferno at 18 Durham Street a “working fire’’ and said “South Broadway and adjacent intersections’’ were blocked.

It is unclear if there were any occupants in the house and if there are any injuries from the fire.
Saturday’s fire in the second in as many days to inflict heavy damage on a home in Lawrence.
On Friday, a late morning fire reportedly ravaged a townhome on Highland Street, displacing a family of five.
