A man was found dead Monday morning on the campus of Emmanuel College in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood, according to a school official.

The man, who was described as “a non-Emmanuel adult summer conference employee,’’ apparently died in St. Joseph Hall, the largest dormitory on Emmanuel’s campus, according to the school’s website.

Police said the death might be attributed to natural causes, and that Emmanuel College is taking precautions because the body was found on campus.

The man was apparently found dead on the fifth floor of St. Joseph Hall, a dormitory that houses undergraduates.

“It appears as though there’s nothing suspicious about the death,’’ said Sgt. Michael McCarthy of the Boston Police Department. BPD did not release additional information because the investigation is ongoing.

The Emmanuel College community was notified early Monday afternoon via an internal portal on the school’s website from the Director of Campus Safety, Jack Kelly.

The message follows in its entirety:

Please be advised that emergency personnel and vehicles responded this morning to a sudden death in St. Joseph Hall of a non-Emmanuel adult summer conference employee. The matter has been turned over to the Boston Police Department.

There is no public safety risk to the College community. I will provide an update when more information is available. Meanwhile, all inquiries should be directed to me at 617-735-9710.
