MBTA staff members will review options for fare reimbursement with the Finance Committee of the MassDOT Board of Directors on March 3, in light of recent service challenges, a Monday statement said.
“Understandably, given the extended duration of our severe weather challenges, a number of questions have been raised regarding fare reimbursement, including a range of suggestions,’’ MBTA General Manager Beverly Scott said in the statement.
A final recommendation will be brought to the next MassDOT board meeting on March 11, according to the statement.
The recent weather conditions have led to limited MBTA service this past month, resulting in multiple days where rail service wasn’t available. Scott has announced her resignation, effective April 11.
