A cyclist was struck and killed by a container truck on Putnam Avenue in Cambridge Wednesday afternoon, Cambridge Police spokesperson Jeremy Warnick said.

The crash occurred at about 1:40 p.m. between River and Pleasant streets, which is outside Central Square, closer to Memorial Drive. Police identified the victim as 65-year-old Marcia Deihl of Cambridge.

Warnick told the truck’s driver is cooperating with investigators and no charges have been filed at this time. He said the cyclist was found unconscious with “obvious injuries’’ and died within moments of their arrival.
