Watch this perfect time-lapse video of Boston’s July 4 celebration

In case you missed it, take two-and-a-half minutes to watch Boston’s Fourth of July celebrations in stunning detail.

The time lapse was shot by recent MIT graduate Victor Hung, who completed an undergraduate program in computer science last month.

“I’m in the yearbook club at MIT. Usually we just take photos. This is the first year we’ve tried doing a video,’’ Hung told Boston.com.

One of the perks of being a yearbook club member is that you get to watch the fireworks from atop the school’s Green building, a privilege usually reserved only for police, according to Hung.

Hung said creating the video involved the use of multiple cameras over several hours.

And the special effect?

“It’s called tilt shift photography. It gives that miniature model look,’’ Hung said.

The music was composed by Hung’s high school friend, Sam Watkinson.

Hung is heading back to MIT in the fall to begin a graduate degree program, also in computer science.
