A New Hampshire man was hit and injured by a passing vehicle Tuesday evening while adding fuel to his car along the side of a highway, according to state police.
Around 7:30 p.m., a 28-year-old man from Nashua pulled over on the side of the Everett Turnpike after running out of gas. He got out of his vehicle to refuel it and was struck by a passing car’s side mirror, police said. The other driver, a 37-year-old man from Hudson, New Hampshire, stopped to help the man and called 911, according to police.
The 28-year-old sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for treatment. Police asked that drivers remember to give space to stopped vehicles along the side of the road.
