Plymouth sports journalist dies in car on Route 495

A 60-year-old Plymouth man was found unresponsive by police Saturday night in a locked car in the median on Route 495 south in Raynham, according to Massachusetts State Police. After troopers gained entry into the car, the man, who had no pulse, was taken to Morton Hospital in Taunton where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police had not identified the man as of Sunday night. However, in an interview with The Boston Globe, the man’s wife, Christina Pratt, identified him as Carl Pratt, a longtime sports journalist. She said he was on the way home from a high school football game and suffered a medical emergency.

Pratt covered high school sports in Plymouth for 30 years on cable access TV, his wife said.

Police do not believe Pratt’s car was involved in a collision.
