The signed sports memorabilia that was stolen from a Saugus barber shop has been recovered and returned, according to police.

Last month, a masked thief entered Barber Masters through the back door and stole framed jerseys, ticket stubs, and photographs from the shop’s walls. After reviewing surveillance footage, police identified a suspect and recovered the memorabilia, which was valued at $5,500, police said.

The memorabilia includes jerseys autographed by local sports legends like Tom Brady and David Ortiz, Celtics ticket stubs from the 1980s, and a photo signed by Red Auerbach.

“We were happy to assist in returning these coveted items to their rightful owner to bring back the Boston sports atmosphere to this barbershop,’’ Saugus Police Chief Domenic DiMella said in a statement. “Our investigation into the theft remains open and ongoing, but charges are forthcoming.’’

Police said they will seek charges against the suspect in Lynn District Court.
