Boston police use Narcan to save woman from overdose

Boston police officers administered Narcan this weekend to save an unconscious woman suffering from an opioid overdose.

According to a post on the department’s website, officers were on patrol in Roxbury on Sunday evening when they observed a male moving near a vehicle in a “frantic, panicked manner.’’

When officers approached the man, they saw an unconscious woman in the car’s driver’s seat, with “signs of drug use in plain view next to her,’’ according to police.

After administering Narcan, the woman regained consciousness and was transported to Tufts Medical Center, police said.
