Whoever is running social media for the city of Boston has a sense of humor – or a deep love of cats. Possibly both.

The newly revamped Boston.gov website was unveiled this week.

But Chip Goines thought the site was missing something: cats.

And so the Harvard University software engineer did what people do in the Internet age when they want to see action on the part of municipal government: He tweeted about it.

And voila, his wish came true. Well, sort of.
