Boston Police commissioner runs Houston Marathon in honor of bombing victim Martin Richard
Richard was killed during the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013.

Boston Police Commissioner Bill Evans completed the Houston Marathon on Sunday in honor of Martin Richard, the 8-year-old who was killed in the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013.
“Commissioner Evans ran as part of Team MR8, the official running team of the Martin Richard Foundation, proudly wearing a shirt in honor of young Martin’s memory as he has done in every race he has run since the 2013 Boston Marathon,’’ police said.
Donning a yellow Team MR8 jersey of the Martin Richard Foundation, Evans completed the race in 3 hours, 37 minutes, and 39 seconds net time, good for a pace of about 8:20 per mile.
It was Evans’s 49th marathon, police said.
