A 34-year-old man is facing charges after police say he opened fire Monday night outside the Taj hotel in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood, according to The Boston Globe.
Andrew B. Flack was arraigned on Tuesday in Boston Municipal Court. He is charged with two counts of discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building and single counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawful possession of a firearm as a subsequent offense based on a prior firearm conviction in South Carolina, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office.
According to the Globe, police say Flack had an altercation with a member of the Taj staff and that he challenged them to a fight. After leaving the Taj, police say Flack discharged a firearm in the vicinity and then again inside a taxi shortly thereafter.
Police say Flack admitted he did not have a permit for the firearm, the Globe reported.
Flack is due back in court on February 23.
